PROGRAMME OF STUDY

This two-year Higher National Diploma in Fisheries science for Mediterranean Countries consists of 16 modules, with 8 modules taught each year. Each module consists of a minimum of 60 hours teaching, fieldwork and practical sessions.

As a vocational course there will be no formal examinations and assessment will be based upon coursework, assignments, practical work and presentations. Compared to a purely academic course, this approach will better equip students for the work place. The aim of this HND Course is not to produce scientific experts but students that are qualified to work competently in all fields at middle management level within the Fisheries Department and the Fishing Industry; both local and foreign.

Completion of the HND programme will enable students to enter directly into the second year of a three-year BSc (Hons) Fisheries Science Degree Course at the University of Plymouth, UK.
