SPECIES CATALOGUE FOR FISHERY PURPOSES - MEDITERRANEAN AND BLACK SEA

 Presentation

The FAO fisheries department published in 1987, in collaboration with the Commission of the European Communities, two volumes of identification sheets of Mediterranean and Black Sea marine species:

  • Volume 1  - Plants and Invertebrates
  • Volume 2 – Vertebrates
This publication being exhausted, COPEMED Project has suggested to finance its publication on CD-ROM. The Species Identification and Data Programme (SIDP) of the FAO fisheries department (service of marine resources) is in charge of this work.

 
 Results
The two volumes will be published on a CD-ROM under PDF format, with direct links from the table of contents (see Figure 1).

The CD-ROM will be available shortly (beginning of 2003) but the two volumes of the guide are already available for consultation and download on the SIDP WEB page.
