is a regional project executed by the

among countries of the Central Mediterranean (Italia, Libya,
Malta and Tunisia) by supporting research activities dealing

executed by Spanish Agency of International Cooperation. The principal goal is
contribute to the economical and social progress of the African countries bias the development
of fisheries compatible with the conservation and management of the fisheries
resources.

European Programme for
Assessment of BIOMasse EXport from Marine Protected Areas and
its impact on fisheries in the western Mediterranean Sea.
Measures of efficiency of MPAs for biomass export is based on a
multidisciplinary approach that will include biological and
fisheries aspects. In this project, they consider MPAs as a
management tool for sustainable fisheries in areas open to
fishing.

community through the SMAP Programme (Short and Medium-Term
Priority Environment Action Programme), is aimed at assisting the
Mediterranean countries to strengthen conservation and the
sustainable management of the elements that make up the
