The Library and Documentation Centre offers assistance and reference services to the Mediterranean scientific, professional and student community as well as to the media and wider public.

  • The UN Atlas of the Oceans is an Internet portal providing information relevant to the sustainable development of the oceans. It is designed for policy-makers who need to become familiar with ocean issues and for scientists, students and resource managers who need access to databases and approaches to sustainability. The UN Atlas can also provide the ocean industry and stakeholders with pertinent i nformation on ocean matters.

  • The EEA's task is to provide timely, targeted, relevant and reliable environmental information. The EEA serve those concerned with framing and implementing European and national environmental policy, and the general public. They bring together the best available environmental data from individual countries. After a thorough compilation of data and its validation through the institutional network (EIONET), information is made accessible in various reporting formats to the users.

  • Conservation International’s (CI) Marine Portal is an interactive web-based tool designed to increase capacity building, bridge information gaps, expand communication networks, and serve as a springboard to other sites and resources of interest. The Marine Portal, launched to the general public in February 2005, provides the global community access to over 1000 marine-related documents and publications, hundreds of websites and related resources, and information for regional and issue-specific experts and contacts.
