FAO - FISHSTAT Plus database

The system provides users with access to Fishery Statistics of various sorts. Any data having time series structure can potentially
be stored and processed by Fishstat Plus. The system consists of the main module and the datasets. Each dataset can be installed
and uninstalled separately. Among the datasets available, you will find
a time series (1970-2002) for Mediterranean and Black annual
catch statistics, allocated by
statistical divisions, and species or species groups. Mediterranean and Black Sea
capture production for 1970-2002 can be downloaded from this site, together with FishStat Plus
software.

The European Directory of Marine Environmental Data

Computer searchable
directory of data sets relating to the marine environment. The
British Oceanographic
Data Centre - BODC (1) initiated EDMED with the
financing of the Marine Science and Technology Programme (MAST) of the
European Commission. Sixteen European institutes/centres are
collaborating as national focal points for in the data collection. (1)
BODC is the publisher of the General Bathymetric chart of the world
(GEBCO) CD-ROM.
At present, EDMED already describes more than 2300
Datasets from over 500 Data holding Centres across Europe. A search tool is
available on the Sea-Search
web site.
The EDMED database can be searched by geographical area,
including, for the Mediterranean Sea, the following areas :

FishBase: A Global Information System on Fishes

FishBase is a relational database with information
to cater to different professionals such as research scientists, fisheries managers, zoologists and many more.
FishBase on the web contains practically all fish species known
to science. It was developed at the WorldFish Center in
collaboration with the FAO and many other partners, and with support from the European Commission (EC). Since 2001 FishBase is supported by a consortium
of seven research institutions.

: International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange

Information Exchange (IODE) is a Programme of the
Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission.

SIPAM has been conceived with the aim of contributing to the Mediterranean aquaculture development through improving the flow of aquaculture information among the participating countries in the Mediterranean Basin.
The SIPAM network consists at present of a Regional Centre, located in Tunis, and National Centers located in Albania, Algeria, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Libja, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Tunisia, and Turkey. The Regional Centre has its own offices in the premises of the Ministry of Agriculture of Tunisia.

We have presented the WEB site of the Moroccan Ministry of Fisheries under
the heading ADMINISTRATION. As far as the national statistics are concerned,
there are available for the period 1990-2002 for production dates, and for
the period 1993-2003 for development of the exportations, in table and graph form. It must be
pointed out that it is not possible here to distinguish between the Mediterranean
and Atlantic data.
