  • FAO - FISHSTAT Plus database  English French
    (Link verified on March 2005)
  • The system provides users with access to Fishery Statistics of various sorts. Any data having time series structure can potentially be stored and processed by Fishstat Plus. The system consists of the main module and the datasets. Each dataset can be installed and uninstalled separately. Among the datasets available, you will find a time series (1970-2002) for Mediterranean and Black annual catch statistics, allocated by statistical divisions, and species or species groups. Mediterranean and Black Sea capture production for 1970-2002 can be downloaded from this site, together with FishStat Plus software.

  • The European Directory of Marine Environmental Data    English
    (Link verified on March 2005)
  • Computer searchable directory of data sets relating to the marine environment. The  British Oceanographic Data Centre - BODC (1)  initiated EDMED with the financing of  the Marine Science and Technology Programme (MAST) of the European Commission. Sixteen  European institutes/centres are collaborating as national focal points for in the data collection.
    (1) BODC is the publisher of the General Bathymetric chart of the world (GEBCO) CD-ROM.

At present, EDMED already describes more than 2300 Datasets from over 500 Data holding Centres across Europe. A search tool is available on the Sea-Search web site.

The EDMED database can be searched by geographical area, including, for the Mediterranean Sea, the following areas :

    Mediterranean Sea

    Western Mediterranean

    Eastern Mediterranean
Strait of Gibraltar Alboran Sea Balearic Sea
Ligurian Sea Tyrrhenian Sea Ionian Sea
    Adriatic Sea Aegean Sea
