The main aim of the COPEMED information system is to facilitate the dissemination of scientific information.As regards the publication of scientific documents, COPEMED is currently
engaged in the setting up of a virtual library that facilitates the access to documents
prepared by FAO (GFCM documents mainly), documents produced by the different activities
coordinated by COPEMED, and documents of interest elaborated by scientists and research
institutions that have not been published ever before.
Some of the activities financed by the project are directly
focusing the publication of research results under various formats:
software, multimedia presentations, bibliographic syntheses, etc... This

Fishery Information , Data and Statistics of the FAO Fisheries
Department. This is a synthesis of the Mediterranean and Black Sea
fisheries. It presents the oceanographic characteristics, fisheries
with their target species and fishing gears, catch and production
statistics.
